Abo Talooni – editor
The Blueberry Spotlight is on editor, Abo Talooni.
Abo is a London-based editor who began editing films in Tehran in 2003. Abo moved to the UK to complete a MA in Film Editing at the National Film and Television School. His fiction films have been screened at Cannes, Palm Springs, Chicago, Encounters, AFI, Telluride and Hampton, his Documentary films have been shortlisted for a Grierson Award and screened at BAFTA. One notable achievement was editing the British Short ‘Patriot‘, which was nominated for a Palm d’Or Short Film at Cannes 2015. In September 2015, Abo was invited to The Asian Film Academy in Busan, South Korea and is now honoured to have been an academy member during the 20th Busan International Film Festival.
Abo’s experience is broad and varied; from drama, to documentary, animation, commercials, music videos and high end corporate videos. He has cut feature film trailers for Carnaby International, long form documentaries for BBC World Service and Vice UK, sizzle reels and promos for Google, a music video for Warner Music UK and short form videos for Channel 4. Cutting on Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro. He has worked with directors from all over the world, and edited projects in French, Nepalese, Korean, Persian and Arabic.
This breadth of experience reinforces his belief that storytelling should always be at the heart of the editing process, regardless of format. Fuelling his drive to engage with the footage put before him, enhancing its nuances and crafting it carefully into its final shape.
