Chris Hall
We’ve known Chris since 2004, he’s a legend. We worked together from 2004 – 2011 and he was always one of our most popular and delightful Editors during that time, so we were very sad when he left London for Somerset. Now, having worked solidly in Bristol (clients include BBC Natural History Unit, Tigress and Silverback Films), Chris has returned to the fold for bookings – we’re overjoyed!
Since working in the south west, Chris’s work has mainly been within documentary, science, natural history and human interest programming. Credits include ‘Tigers On The Rise’ (Disney Nature), ‘America The Beautiful’ (Disney+ / NatGeo), ‘Animals with Cameras’ (BBC 2), ‘Wild Weather with Richard Hammond’ (BBC1), ‘The Outer Edges’ (feature).
Chris particularly loves projects where he can show the emotion in the story, or break down a complex topic into simpler terms which really connect with the audience.
Chris’s background is in short film, music and branded content (including ‘Bestival’ coverage 2006-2010 and ‘Vashti Bunyan: From Here To Before’, ‘London 2012 Olympic Games’, ‘Nike – In Search Of The Beautiful Game’). He thinks creatively, works quickly and tells stylishly crafted stories.

Tigers on The Rise
Feature length documentary for Disneynature telling the story of the remarkable rise of tiger numbers in India. However, many of the big cats are venturing from India’s forest reserves into farms and villages. The heroes in this story are the vets, scientists, and community patrols dedicated to ensuring that tigers and people can coexist. It was a joy to edit this moving and inspiring story especially as both the wildlife and documentary footage were beautifully shot.
America the Beautiful: Brave New World
The inspiring stories of five conservationists battling to make a difference by protecting their own part of the planet. Part of a blue-chip series for Nat Geo. Winner of an EMA for best documentary. Aired on Disney +
The Man With The Halo
Inspiring documentary about top Iron Man triathlete Tim Don who was on the verge of becoming world champion when a traffic accident left him with a broken neck. This follows Tim as he tries to make an astonishing comeback. Here my challenge was to bring out the personalities of the characters and to be always planting questions in the viewers mind so they want to know what happens next.
Hellen Obiri Runs A Marathon
Short film for running shoe brand ‘On’ featuring one of their sponsored athletes, Hellen Obiri. The film follows the build up to her attempt to win the New York Marathon – incredibly the first time she has ever run a marathon competitively. While she ‘only’ comes 6th in New York, she went on to win in Boston – her second marathon.
Wild Weather with Richard Hammond
In this factual entertainment show, Richard Hammond encounters the unexplained and the unexpected, the unbelievable and the just plain unlikely, as he travels the world attempting to reveal the phenomena behind the hidden world of weather. 3-part series for BBC 1.
The Alaska Triangle
10-part series recounting the unexplained mysteries of Alaska. Combining interviews, actuality, drama reconstructions and archive. In this series we built a mood of tension, suspense then broke that with shocks, often taking a leaf from horror movies. Editing this helped me understand the somewhat counterintuitive ‘rule’ that holding shots builds tension and suspense, while cutting quickly, often dissipates tension.
Your Home Made Perfect
In this factual entertainment show, architects compete to create a design to transform people’s homes. Combining actuality, interview, VFX and glossy shots to create an exciting, fun and emotional show.
James Martin Home Comforts
Cooking show with chef James Martin. Featuring cooking segments shot in a multi-camera studio, along with single camera VT packages. The challenge here was to keep the pace up, cutting down recipes that took 30 minutes to make down to 5 minutes while keeping those funny engaging moments. Aired on BBC
Glenys Cour
Heartwarming profile of veteran artist Glenys Cour, a member of the Swansea group of artists and writers that included Dylan Thomas. The film looks at her life, artistic inspirations and philosophy.
