Eric Sykes was one of Britain’s favourite comedians, a multi-talented writer, actor, and director who understood what made the British people laugh, and whose career spanned over six decades.

With interview contributions from his daughter, Julie Sykes, and close friend and entertainment legend Jimmy Tarbuck, comedy great Eddie Izzard, actor Amanda Abbington, former Goodie Graeme Garden and theatre producer Bill Kenwright, this film reveals for the first time the extent of Eric’s deafness, which struck in his 20’s just as he began to achieve great success, and the remarkable way he overcame it while crafting some of British TV’s greatest laughs.
