An accomplished documentary and factual Editor, Ian’s editing combines thoughtful storytelling with a bold visual sensibility and a musician’s natural understanding of rhythm, sound and pace. Equally comfortable shaping sensitive testimony, complex investigations and visually ambitious factual programming, he has edited for major UK and international broadcasters and platforms including the BBC, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, National Geographic, Discovery and A&E.
Ian has developed particular strength in true crime and access-led documentary. His work includes Hulu/Disney+ series Friends Like These: The Murder of Skylar Neese, FEDS for Discovery+, Aileen Wuornos: Facing Evil and multiple series of A&E’s Accused: Guilty or Innocent?. FEDS was nominated for Outstanding Episodic Series at the CrimeCon CLUE Awards 2026, while When Sharks Attack 360 was nominated for Best Documentary Series at the Content Innovation Awards 2023.
His range extends well beyond crime, encompassing science, natural history, history, adventure and factual entertainment. Credits include Beyond Hubble: The Telescope of Tomorrow, Ross Kemp: Shipwreck Treasure Hunter and Hitler’s Circle of Evil.
Alongside strong storytelling instincts, Ian enjoys creating bold visual styles and brings a musical background to the edit, giving him a particular affinity for sound, rhythm, pace and timing.
