Simon is a highly experienced documentary editor with a career spanning current affairs, observational documentary, history, arts and music, science and factual entertainment. Sensitive, instinctive and highly collaborative, he brings a wealth of editorial experience to the cutting room while remaining completely focused on finding the heart of each individual story.

His work ranges from the Amol Rajan InterviewsDiana999: On the Frontline and Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted. Equally comfortable working closely with a producer/director or independently in the edit, Simon is known for his professionalism, dedication and willingness to go the extra mile to get a film just right. Simon has also made valued editorial contributions to a number of acclaimed productions. He worked as an additional editor on The Mother of All Cons, which was shortlisted for Best Documentary Series and Best Crime and Justice Documentary at the Grierson Awards 2026.

Simon was the film editor on Peter Taylor: My Journey Through the Troubles, which won Specialist Factual at the RTS Northern Ireland Television Awards 2020, adding to a long track record of recognised documentary work. Earlier in Simon’s career, Ape-Man, broadcast in the US as The Dawn of Man, received an Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in the Craft of Editing in 2001.
