Mateo Morais
Mateo is building an impressive path from Edit Assistant towards Editor, combining a strong technical grounding with growing creative experience across documentary, entertainment and factual television.
His credits include the Disney+ series The Real Rooneys, where he worked as Edit Assistant across all ten episodes, supporting the post-production of the access-led series following Coleen and Wayne Rooney and their family. He has also worked as Assistant Editor on Mindhouse’s Dart Kings for Sky Documentaries and on feature documentary Defoe for Amazon Prime.
Alongside his assisting work, Mateo is steadily developing his editing experience. As Junior Editor on ABC’s 20/20: Catch Us If You Can, his responsibilities included assembly edits, cutting sequences and making final editorial changes, while his time as a Junior Editor at Transistor Films saw him work across development sizzles. His wider credits include Netflix true crime series I Am a Stalker, The Russell Howard Hour, Neighbourhood Blues and Police Interceptors.
Creative, hardworking and comfortable taking initiative, Mateo is experienced across Avid, Premiere and DaVinci Resolve. His understanding of both the technical and creative sides of the edit makes him a versatile pair of hands in post, giving him a strong foundation as he takes on increasing Editor responsibilities.
The Real Rooneys
A 10 part observational documentary series for Disney+ following Coleen and Wayne Rooney through a pivotal year in their lives, from Wayne stepping away from football management to Coleen launching her own Primark range. The series offers unprecedented access to the family’s everyday life, following the couple as they raise their four sons, support eldest son Kai’s footballing ambitions, and navigate the highs and lows of one of Britain’s most famous marriages
