Jay Knowles

Jay has been working as freelance producer and director since 2016. Previous to this he was a video producer at BrightTALK Studios for 4 years, where he collaborated with key clients such as Barclays, Tesco, HSBC, Legal & General and Vanguard, creating videos and rich media content to help them achieve their marketing goals.

Extremely motivated and with a passion for video and for pushing the boundaries of what it can achieve, Jay enjoys working as part of a successful team, combining a highly professional and collaborative approach to achieve excellent results and quality output. Beyond commercial projects, he has also worked on a wide range of video and animation projects and has produced award-winning short films, such as Touched (2014) and Incognito (2015).

A problem solver who thrives on challenges, he employs a unique way of approaching projects to ensure that the end result is interesting and engaging. Recent clients include Dell, McAfee, Old Mutual, Wardour, AIC, Old Mutual Global Investors, J.P Morgan, Schroders, Fidelity and Aberdeen.

Chris Lamontagne

Chris is an experienced Assistant Editor with an enormous passion in offline editing. With his alchemy of  technical skill, communication, organisation, attention to detail and creative flair, he has proven to be a key asset to various production and post-production facilities. 

With his experience and understanding of bringing a show to broadcast, Chris has also put together his own work, where he directs, films and edits. Whether it’s ingesting, exports, syncing/grouping, troubleshooting, building workflows, conforms, assembling, sync pulling, editing sizzles or even if it’s just for good company, best believe Chris is right up your alley. 

Previous clients include: BBC, Channel 5, Channel 4, Amazon, Hat Trick Productions, Plum Pictures, Emporium, Blast Films, Whitworth Media and Studio Leo.

Andrew Fineberg

A  highly skilled, enthusiastic and ambitious Assistant Editor and VFX Editor, Andrew has the drive to succeed in every project he is involved in and has a keen interest in pursuing a career in either short form or long form productions.

He is passionate about a variety of television and film genres, with his career encompassing a broad spectrum of programming including feature film, factual, reality, documentary, light entertainment, comedy, drama, sport, lifestyle, music promo, advertising and animation.

Andrew has extensive experience in the film and television industry in three countries, UK, Canada and Australia, across several sectors including visual effects, post-production, animation, broadcasting, television production and digital media.

He is proficient with a variety of editing systems and software including Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and Nuke Studio, as well as having a comprehensive knowledge of post-production and visual effects pipelines, quality control procedures and tapeless workflows.

Andrew is adept at working under pressure, within strict deadlines and in fast-paced environments and is equally comfortable working on an independent basis or as part of a team. He is proactive and highly motivated to develop new skills, with an increasing interest in photography and filmmaking.

Over the last few years he has worked for companies such as One of Us, BlueBolt, Prime Focus World and Peerless Camera Company and his credits include Beauty And The Beast, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, Peaky Blinders, Jamestown and Stan Lee’s Luckyman.

Ceyda Barut

With 5 years of experience in Television Post Production, including 4 as an Edit assistant and a year as Head of MCR. Ceyda has gained a strong technical understanding of workflows for a range of programmes.  Working on long and short form shows and short films, Ceyda has also sync pulled and edited whole episodes from rough cut and fine cut.

Duties as an Edit Assistant included: Backing up rushes (including archiving to LTO tapes via Storage DNA), ingesting emida, conforming, exporting (EDLs, AAFs, QTs), syncing footage, grouping multicam (including footage, go pros and drones) and providing technical support for editors. Confident in Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve. Also confident using Editshare and Indiestor Services.

Duties as Head of MCR included: Creating AS11s and converting to other file types, delivering programmes internationally (via Aspera, Signiant, ftps), prioritising work received and delegating tasks to edit assistants, improving workflows to become more efficient including programmes such as Trello, buying new equipment and comparing technical specifications. Confident using Farmers Wife and Google drive.

Beth Allan

Beth offers the unique combination of in depth technical knowledge and individual creative flair. This is best showcased in her work as a colourist, where she has a proven record of being able translate a production’s vision into a polished final product with accuracy. She also uses her up to date technical knowledge, gained from working in a mix of high end and boutique post production facilities since 2010, to support the offline and online process. Thinking laterally she is able to assist any type of production with robust workflow implementation and first class technical support.

Previous clients include the BBC, Channel 4 and Sundance winning feature doc, Three Identical Strangers.

Aaron Wheeler

Aaron is a Junior editor and motion graphic designer, working as a freelancer since 2017. Having a strong understanding of both audio production and motion graphics has given him a wide variety of tools to help tell stories. Having originally started creating short films as a child, Aaron has been developing as both an editor and story teller for many years. In 2015, Aaron started a video production apprenticeship with the Telegraph Media Group, working as a junior creative, editor and motion designer across the commercial and editorial video departments.

With a great knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Audition and After Effects, Aaron excels in editing fast paced, high energy projects but believes the true skill in editing is the ability to reveal a stories information at the perfect moment, maximising audience’s engagement.

Charlie Williams

Charlie is an excellent Edit Assistant with a variety of experience in both offline and online work for long and short form projects. She is comfortable with all editing workflows and is happy to do ingesting, transcoding, fixes, deliverables, reversioning and adaptations.
Charlie has an excellent sense of timing and rhythm, a meticulous eye for detail and a strong creative air. Technically adept and always willing to learn new systems and software, she responds quickly and professionally to new challenges and enjoys working within a team as well as autonomously. She has strived to work through the ranks working in notable Post Production houses such as ENVY, ClearCut, BBC and Coda. Cutting a variety of programs including Commercials, Promos, Digital Media and Broadcast Television, she demonstrated the same enthusiasm for every project and collaborated creatively with the director and producer every time.
Charlie is proficient in Avid, FCP7, FCPX and Premiere and is keen to meet new clients and build up her freelancing portfolio. She has been described as enthusiastic, knowledgeable and a real team player – Charlie would be an asset to any edit.

Nathan Baker

Nathan is an Assistant and Editor who combines technical prowess with creative cutting.
Proficient in Adobe, Final Cut and DaVinci Resolve and several years experience his abilities in post range from; DIT, ingesting, offline cutting, online conforming, online editing and deliveries.

Jamie Stagg

Jamie has worked in some of Soho’s busiest Post Houses having worked his way up from Runner to Senior Post Production Specialist.

He is fully conversant with all platforms used in current editing, but particularly happy working with Avid – Media Composer or Symphony. Jamie can see a project through from ingest to final export and advise on suitable workflows.

He is equally confident on short form projects like commercials and online content, or long form Broadcast Projects.

Nord Brahami

Originally from Lyon (France), Nord is fluent in both French and English. He has worked in a myriad of production companies including Atlantic, Discovery and National Geographic where he assisted director Nigel Walk on Buried Secrets of the Bible with Albert Lin.

One of his recent projects was working with producer Guy Pugh for Discovery and Channel 4 – Ice Age: Return Of The Mammoth (Renegade Pictures). His knowledge of music and musical ability is a great advantage for cutting rhythmical pieces and syncing materials accordingly.

Other Edit Assistant work Nord has been involved with include The Martin Lewis Show (ITV), Ross Kemp (In the Line of Fire With… ITV, Renegade Pictures/Freshwater Films), Jill Dando – The 20 Year Mystery (Turquoise TV, ITV), Hedgehogs (Athena Film, Channel 5), The Queen& Lost Family (Renegade Pictures, Channel 4), Dog Detectives (Rare Tv, Quest) Fake Britain (Rare Tv, BBC One) and The Mummy Diaries (Potato Production, ITVBe).

Jon Odutolu

Jon is an all-round creative. He is equally as comfortable on set as in the edit. He has solid demonstrable experience across a number of fields that allow me to seamlessly fit in at every stage of production.

Clients have found Jon pleasant to collaborate with and that he can throw in his own ideas but happy to accommodate feedback and changes.

In addition to this, he has proved helpful when projects arise last minute and quickly jump in and assist efficiently.

When Jon is not in the studio, he is usually found travelling across the globe and as a keen visual creative, forever creating content.

Billy Waite

Billy’s focus is Editing.  He enjoys storytelling and gets great satisfaction working with Edit Producers and Directors. Billy built his experience in staff roles at ITV, Discovery Channel and Evolutions TV, before going freelance in 2016.  

Working as an Assistant Editor in busy Post-Production houses enabled Billy to refine his skills and practise working in a fast paced environment, delivering to a high standard across multiple projects. He also developed excellent knowledge of Online Editing and finishing techniques. 

Billy is now pushing to develop his skills and career as an Offline Editor.  He is organised, meticulous, creative, calm, adaptable and committed to delivering a high standard of storytelling from the start of the edit to the final cut.

Ted Keating

Shortly after completing his BSc and MSc courses in Music Technology and Sound Engineering, Ted was able to secure work within the Post Production industry at ‘The Farm Group’. After three years there, Ted has since gone freelance and he is working as an Edit Assistant and Editor. During this time Ted has worked on many projects, both in house and on location for an almost entirely documentary based clientele. Ted is also Directing and Editing a long-form documentary, monitoring the progress of Zach Washington-Young, a young man who was paralyzed in a coach crash due to a 20 year old tyre. Zach was told by doctors he would never walk again, only to complete the London marathon 6 years later, highlighting the greater need for innovative spinal rehabilitation and safety of tyres on public transport.

Elliott Chyi

Elliott Chyi is an up and coming London based video/film editor with over 4 years of experience. He is a versatile editor in Adobe Premiere, also confident with AVID, Da Vinci and FCPX. He also has motion graphics skills and can work with After Effects to a high level, as well as experiences with assisting/conforming/turning over projects.

Elliott has worked with a wide range of high-end clients, including Financial Times, Pulse Films, VICE, Memrise, JLL, Pirate Studios, LEGO, Dirty Films, Bullion Films etc. He’s also bilingually versed in Mandarin, which enables him to cut/subtitle/consult foreign language content as well.

Aside from working as an editor he also works as a DIT on high-end music promos/commercials, having worked with a dozen award-winning DOPs on high spec projects.

Elliott currently specialises in music content, branded docs, and high-end corporates, also have experiences working on narrative pieces. He is always open to new opportunities & collaborations!

John Okello

An Edit Assistant with experience in post production with proficiency with Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro, John thrives in high-pressure environments utilising fast thinking and quick solutions to solve complex problems.

John entered the MAMA Youth Project scheme in 2015 and trained together with a close-knit team to produce a six-episode arts and culture television show for Sky One. Here as well as learning how to edit, he became familiar with how to research, source talent and self-shoot.

His experience working in a top, fast paced production company has gained various skills as an Edit Assistant including: Ingesting, Media Management, Offline and Online Technical Edit Support, Syncing and Grouping, Exports and Playouts, Sync Pulls, Assembly Edits, Finishing and Conforms for shows such as: ’24 Hours in A&E’, ‘The Secret Life of The Zoo’ and ‘The X Factor’.

Outside of working hours, John is actively seeking out editing work. His recent projects include ‘Looking for Sambo’ – a short documentary following the residents of Sunderland Point and how their village is affected by the grave of 18th Century slave known only as Sambo. And ‘Indian Wedding’ – a multi-day shoot, filming and editing an Indian wedding in Kolkata, India.

Toby Avis

Toby began his career at Evolutions where he developed all skills associated with being an Avid Edit Assistant. After coordinating four seasons of their flagship shows he moved to a smaller audio-based company that had started developing music documentaries for TV broadcast.

At Somethin’ Else, Toby was the sole Avid support for a number of projects broadcast on BBC4, ITV2, and Sky, and was responsible for all assistance from ingest to final upload. Toby’s most recent experience involved working as the finishing assistant for Silverglade, where his day to day included conforms, AS11 creation and online fixes, right through to attending client reviews and final delivery.

Toby works with the highest level of technical accuracy as well as providing creative solutions. His intention is to grow as an offline editor but he has also gained reliable experience in finishing as well.

One of Toby’s proudest achievements is that he edited the VT’s for Jazz 625 for BBC4, which won a Broadcast 2020 Award.
